Kim Serafin

Kim began her political career in 1993 as a campaign volunteer on Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani’s successful Mayoral campaign. She continued on into the Giuliani Administration in 1994, working as a Deputy Press Secretary to the Mayor while at the same time, attending New York University as an Honors Scholar and graduating with a BA in politics and journalism. In addition to her responsibilities at the Mayor’s Office in overseeing the press strategies at several City agencies, Kim produced the Mayor’s weekly radio show on WABC Radio. She was also integral in the media logistics for major City events such Pope John Paul II’s visit to NYC, the redevelopment of Times Square, and crisis control efforts during the Empire State Building shooting and the Blizzard of ’96.

After four years in the Giuliani administration, she moved to Los Angeles where she served as Deputy Press Secretary to Mayor Richard Riordan. In Los Angeles, Kim was also a public relations consultant, speechwriter and project manager for such entities as the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, A&E Television Networks and a special program between Allstate Insurance and the Los Angeles Police Department.

Kim returned to New York in 1999 as the Press Secretary for NYC 2000, New York City’s official Millennium Committee, where she was the spokesperson for all official millennium events in New York City including First Night events and integral in the Times Square celebration.

Recently, Kim was the Deputy Director of Communications and Spokesperson for Mayor Giuliani’s US Senate Campaign against Hillary Clinton, devising the campaign’s press operation and strategies as well as overseeing the campaign website, and traveling with the Mayor around the state. She was also a consultant to Lazio 2000, Congressman Rick Lazio’s recent NY Senate campaign.

Kim is currently a political and media consultant and appears as a regular political commentator on various national TV networks and radio outlets including MSNBC, Fox News Channel, Oxygen Television and Politically Incorrect. She is a political analyst for and has also been a guest-host for KABC Radio in Los Angeles.

Kim is a published writer, authoring a children’s book on the California Missions, and, being a long-time vegetarian herself, a book for teens; Everything You Need to Know About being a Vegetarian. She has written opinion pieces for major publications including the New York Post and Cosmopolitan.

Kim has also been an actress, with credits on such sitcoms as Spin City, The Single Guy and Boy Meets World. She has appeared in productions at several Equity and summer stock theatres, as well as in national TV commercials. She has studied acting, singing and dance with some of the industry’s most respected teachers and performers including Betty Buckley and composer / lyricist Craig Carnelia. She is also a member of the Legislative Committee at Screen Actors Guild.

Kim grew up on Long Island and lives in Manhattan.
