Kim began her political career in 1993 as a
campaign volunteer on Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani’s
successful Mayoral campaign. She continued on into the
Giuliani Administration in 1994, working as a Deputy Press
Secretary to the Mayor while at the same time, attending
New York University as an Honors Scholar and graduating
with a BA in politics and journalism. In addition to her
responsibilities at the Mayor’s Office in overseeing the
press strategies at several City agencies, Kim produced
the Mayor’s weekly radio show on WABC Radio. She was
also integral in the media logistics for major City events
such Pope John Paul II’s visit to NYC, the redevelopment
of Times Square, and crisis control efforts during the
Empire State Building shooting and the Blizzard of ’96.
After four years in the Giuliani administration, she moved to
Los Angeles where she served as Deputy Press Secretary to Mayor
Richard Riordan. In Los Angeles, Kim was also a public relations
consultant, speechwriter and project manager for such entities
as the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, A&E
Television Networks and a special program between Allstate
Insurance and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Kim returned to New York in 1999 as the Press Secretary for
NYC 2000, New York City’s official Millennium Committee, where
she was the spokesperson for all official millennium events in
New York City including First
Night events and integral in the Times Square
Recently, Kim was the Deputy Director of Communications
and Spokesperson for Mayor Giuliani’s US Senate Campaign
against Hillary Clinton, devising the campaign’s press
operation and strategies as well as overseeing the
campaign website, and traveling with the Mayor around the
state. She was also a consultant to Lazio 2000,
Congressman Rick Lazio’s recent NY Senate campaign.
Kim is currently a political and media consultant and
appears as a regular political commentator on various
national TV networks and radio outlets including MSNBC,
Fox News Channel, Oxygen Television and
Politically Incorrect. She is a political analyst for
PoliticalUSA.com and has also been a guest-host for KABC
Radio in Los Angeles.
Kim is a published writer, authoring a children’s
book on the California Missions, and, being a long-time
vegetarian herself, a book for teens; Everything You
Need to Know About being a Vegetarian. She has written
opinion pieces for major publications including the New
York Post and Cosmopolitan.
Kim has also been an actress, with credits on such
sitcoms as Spin City, The Single Guy and Boy
Meets World. She has appeared in productions at
several Equity and summer stock theatres, as well as in
national TV commercials. She has studied acting, singing
and dance with some of the industry’s most respected
teachers and performers including Betty Buckley and
composer / lyricist Craig Carnelia. She is also a member
of the Legislative Committee at Screen Actors Guild.
Kim grew up on Long Island and lives in Manhattan.
