the conservative comeback movements in America.  I thought you held your
ground quite nicely on the that dork's FoxNews Show.  I normally flip
through channels till I see something interesting.  You absolutely killed me

Dear Mario,

After seeing your appearance on Hannity and Colmes tonight, I can only say 
you are so very wrong about trying to find out why so much of the Arab world 
hates us. To change our foreign policy to appease them would be nothing more 
than giving in to their terrorism. What other demands would they make in the 
future to eat away at our way of life if we just cave (no pun intended) to 
their demands?

I would also like to point out that not all Muslims in the Middle East harbor 
the hatred toward us that followers of terrorism do. They may disagree with 
our lifestyle, our friendship with Israel, but they don't approve of what 
happened on September 11. I know for a fact that some Muslim people are 
forced to live in inhumane and unacceptable conditions all throughout 
troubled regions simply because of a few power hungry and evil people who 
have hijacked the Muslim faith to advance their cause throughout the world. 

To try to understand the hatred people such as Usama Bin Laden harbor is 
ludicrous. If that hatred could be justified (and it cannot), that means we 
have to justify all evil. We would find ourselves asking, 'What did the women 
of Afghanistan do to deserve the treatment they received from the Taliban?' 
We would also have to ask, 'What did that child do to be kidnapped', 'what 
did that teenage girl do that caused her to be raped?' or 'what did that 
family do to make that armed robber shoot them in their home?' Trying to 
understand such evil would mean eliminating one's own conscience. Then, there 
is no room left to behave as a human being.

I refuse to believe that America is responsible for the all hatred some feel 
toward her. We are the only country that feeds millions through out the world 
only to have some bite our hands - and yet we give them more because we 
believe if it helps one person, it's worth it. We come to the call of help 
when natural disasters strike, yet how many countries come to Florida when a 
hurricane strikes, or to California when a fire rages out of control? When 
countries that criticize us (including many Arab countries) need money, who 
gives it to them? 

The list goes on, and though I know America has made her share of mistakes, I 
also know that unlike many countries, America's is an open book for all the 
world to see. There has never been a country like this in the course of 
history, and there never will be again. We are the last great hope for many 
who can only dream of breathing freedom, and when I saw my fellow citizens 
being murdered September 11, it was an attack on every single American and 
every single person throughout the world who wants to live their life, 
worship their God and make their dreams a reality in a free society. 

My advice to those who would hate us so much is 'if you don't like it here, 
stay out. Don't force your imperialism on the United States of America'.

Though I disagree with you big time regarding the comments on tonight's tv 
appearance, you are free to say what you want, and so am I. Let's be thankful 
over the holidays (and everyday) that we can have our convictions, open 
debates and differing views.
